*On June 8, 2026, The House Oversight Committee released a report stating that “Senior officials in Governor Walz’s office and Attorney General Ellison’s office were aware of credible, systematic fraud concerns in social services programs as early as 2019 within the Minnesota DHS. In November 2025, Putnam Posted A Video On His Official Facebook Profile Where He Mockingly Used Air Quotes To Describe The Fraud Perpetuated By Somali Immigrants In Minnesota. In The Same Video, He Dismissed Email Correspondence Sent To His Office Regarding The Fraud, As “Written By An Interest Group.” (Facebook, 11/26/25)

In December 2025, Putnam Posted A Clip On TikTok Seemingly Targeted Towards Somali Individuals In Minnesota. The Video Downplayed The Allegations Of Fraud Being Perpetuated By Somali Immigrants. The Caption Used A “#somalitiktok” And Included A News Ticker In Somali, With A Link To “www.kzysradio.com” A Somali Radio Station In St. Cloud. (TikTok, 12/3/25)

**In 2023, Putnam supported legislation that “allows illegal immigrants to receive driver’s licenses within the State of Minnesota, the likes of which will be dubbed ‘noncompliant licenses’”.

In 2023, Putnam celebrated on X the passing of a bill that would allow illegal aliens to get drivers licenses. He stated, “it shouldn’t have been controversial”.

In 2025, Putnam voted nay on HF 1, which removed illegal immigrants from MinnesotaCare.

In 2026, Putnam voted against amendment which prevented rental assistance from going to illegal immigrants.

In 2024, Putnam voted against amendment which prevented taxpayer funds from paying for the college of illegal immigrants.
